Why TºCool Turf Infill is Perfect for the Golf Green.

Within the synthetic turf industry, the typical infill used for golf greens is a subangular sand blend. The problem with using subangular sand infill for turf, is that it locks and compacts. When a golf ball lands on the green with subangular infill, energy and force is returned to the golf ball. The force restitution from a compacted surface forces the ball to bounce erratically. In addition, the combination of the compaction and sharp edges of the sand wears the turf quicker, reducing the lifespan of the synthetic turf system.

TºCool’s chosen 16/30 sand is a proprietary, high-quality, spherical and well-rounded sand that allows for optimum shock absorption and true ball roll. TºCool sand does not compact and absorbs energy. TºCool distributes the energy from particle to particle throughout the infill matrix, allowing the synthetic turf golf green to accept and hold long golf shots. T°Cool sand infill also provides a surface that mimics a natural green and putts true. Due to its well-rounded and spherical nature, TºCool sand also extends the life of the synthetic turf system.

Landscape Architectural Specifications: The Ins & Outs

“You're dealing with peoples emotional responses to place, as much as you're dealing with their physical responses to place. That comes with experience. That comes with modeling. That comes with watching people. That comes with paying attention to our environments. That is why we are landscape architects. We love it.” - Mary Margaret Jones | Hargreaves Associates

Stay Chill: The Science Behind Evaporative Cooling

One of the hardest things when it comes to synthetic turf care and maintenance is trying to work with the surface on hotter days. When the sun is beating down on synthetic grass the temperatures of said turf can get as high as 140ºF to 160ºF+ degrees. You can try to fight the heat by irrigating the turf all day but this is a disruptive and unsustainable way to work.

Enter TºCool, a patented cooling agent specifically designed to extend the effects of evaporative cooling on synthetic turfs, shown to reduce the temperature of turf by 30ºF to 50ºF+ degrees.
